The cogs turn

Hey family,
Got a day off from my new JOB to get organized, and I hope to use it wisely.
First I must tell of the fathersdayadventure. E lizabeth got me a Harley 1200 sportster
bike for a 24-hr period, which in itself dosen't seem like a span of time, but on a Harley, it's a lot. I got surprised completely by the girls, she was taking me God knows where, drove me around to confuse me, then hit the harleylot (Pigpen). The riding of motorcycles was an adventure long gone from my memory, faded at best. I knew the ride would call on a lot of skills I haven't used for a long time, so, with no time for preparation(drinking) I set off with a BIG grin on my face! The 60 mph breeze hit like a brick,
so I had to compensate by slowing down. Not the idea here. The roads with E lizabeth on the back were stupendus, the smells, the temperature changes, the sun on the chrome all combined to make this a great experience.
Bangin gears thru the Carolina trees is like nothing I've ever experienced before. Wyoming wide open is great, but here you are surrounded by friends in the trees. The sound of frogs at night and birdies by day are too much. the music of the engine just makes the ride that much more. It's hard to describe a gearheads love affair with machinery, but the mechanized noise of horsepower really does something to us. With the lope of the Harley cam and rockers jumping, the clatter is unlike any other. So I will not try to impose the innerworkings of my brain further. As my brain functions, I also am attracted to the delicacy of knives. The SON presented me with the most mechanized kind of knife I've seen. too cool. I have a blister from playing with the thing, so I must save myself for the next time I need to cut. Thank you family for the great machinery- in the pocket-and the seat of my pants!
The idea of fathers day is just that, to honor the male patriarchs of the family, and honor they did. what a fantastic gift. Sight, sound, smells and the thrill of the road all combined into a memory that will not fade. Thanks guys for the coolest gifts.

Excitement

You know I have about 10 topics to blog about and I fully intended tonight to start atleast 6 of them, But I have to learn to do short blogs so heres my attempt.

I am so excited. I leave for Denver next Wednesday. THere is a very special little fellow I am anxious to see, hear and feel. I cant wait to watch Lord of the Rings Marathon including Lord of the Beans with my dear son, and I am so much looking forward to spending wild times with Tamara. We are going to attempt some projects, cooking and sewing and other girl stuff. The reason I am so excited about being with Tamara is because I learn so much from her and she is so so so damn funny. I always get the newest cool vocabulary from her. Last time I was there she taught me Hell-a-cute ( which is the only way to describe Shannon) and ROSHAMBO. I used that word in every sentence for 5 weeks before I found out what it meant. ( I mean really meant instead of what it meant on Southpark.) hahaha

I am so so excited about DENVER!! One of my favorite things to do, besides eat hotdogs at Coors field, is to slowly wander through all the used book stores on BROADWAY!!! did I tell you what I found there last time.. and now I am looking for this one,
and I have spent tonight doing my research there are several books, I am looking for. BUT THis is the SHOW STOPPER....
My favorite male author..... Ivan Doig has a new book out... SWEET.... Happy Birthday to me. Happy Birthday dear me.. Happy Birthday to me. cha cha cha. Which reminds me while I am down on Broadway maybe Rusty and I can find Blinky and he will sing Happy Birth a day to me.
So much to do when I get there.
